Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 28, 2026
Last updated: September 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Desiderata LLC, doing business as Desiderata Consulting (“we,” “us,” “our”), collects through desiderataconsulting.com and through our coaching and Splankna services, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect only what we need to serve you, we never sell your information, and the personal things you share in sessions stay private.

1. Information you give us

Contact and sign-up forms. When you use our contact form, footer sign-up, or other website forms, we collect your name, email address, and anything you choose to write in your message.

Holistic Life Audit (Parts One and Two). When you take the Life Audit, we collect your name, email address, and the ratings and answers you give about areas of your life, such as physical wellbeing, stress and emotions, spiritual life, home environment, and relationships. We use your scores to send you your results and resources matched to them.

Bookings. When you book a Meet & Greet, consultation, Splankna session, or program through TidyCal, we collect your name, email address, the time you booked, and any answers you give on the booking form.

Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We see your name, the amount, and whether the payment went through. We never see or store your full card number.

Client intake information. If you become a Splankna or coaching client, we ask you to complete a client information sheet and agreement. That can include your date of birth, address, phone number, faith background, relationship history, certain health conditions, and whether you have ever considered or attempted suicide. We ask for this ONLY so we can prepare for your sessions and keep them safe for you. See Section 4.

Emails and messages. If you email or message us, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and keep track of your questions.

2. Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, some information is collected automatically:

  • Google Analytics records how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on page, the general location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you found us. It uses cookies to do this.
  • Google reCAPTCHA checks form submissions to block spam. Google collects information about your device and how you interact with the page to tell people from bots.
  • Wordfence (our security plugin) records IP addresses and login attempts to protect the site from attacks.
  • Google Fonts and Gravatar load from outside services, which means those services receive your IP address when a page loads.

For more on cookies and how to turn them off, see our Cookies Policy.

“Do Not Track” signals. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, so our website does not currently change its behavior when it receives one. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your messages and questions
  • Schedule, deliver, and follow up on sessions and programs
  • Process payments, deposits, and refunds
  • Send you the Life Audit results and resources you asked for
  • Send emails you signed up for (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Keep the website secure and free of spam
  • Understand how the website is used so we can improve it
  • Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.

4. Sensitive information you share as a client

Some of what clients share is deeply personal: health conditions, faith, relationships, and painful life experiences. We treat it that way.

  • Intake information and anything you share in a session is used only to prepare for and provide your sessions.
  • It is never used for marketing, never added to our email list or automation tools, and never sold or shared for advertising.
  • It is shared with no one without your written permission, except when the law requires it: if there is a reasonable belief that you are at imminent risk of harming yourself or someone else, if there is reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or if a valid court order requires it. These are the same exceptions listed in your client agreement.
  • We may talk about sessions in general terms for education or marketing, but never with your name, likeness, location, or any detail that could identify you, unless you give written permission. Testimonials are shared only with your permission and in your own words.

Desiderata Consulting is not a healthcare provider. We are not a medical practice, psychologist, or counselor, and our services are not a substitute for medical or psychological care. Because of that, federal health privacy law (HIPAA) does not apply to us. We still protect your information as carefully as we would if it did.

5. Who helps us run the business

We use trusted outside services to run the website and the business. Each one receives only the information it needs to do its job:

Service What it does for us
Hostinger Hosts the website
WordPress and Elementor Run the website and store form submissions
Brevo Email list, email delivery, and contact records
Make Connects our forms to Brevo and stores Life Audit scores so we can send your results
TidyCal Appointment booking
Stripe Payments
Google Analytics, reCAPTCHA spam protection, fonts, and email
Wordfence Website security
Google Meet or Zoom Virtual sessions

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or to protect our legal rights. If the business is ever sold or transferred, your information would transfer with it under the same protections.

6. How we protect your information

The website uses an encrypted (SSL) connection. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers. Forms are protected against spam and bots, the site is monitored for security threats, and access to client information is limited to Sheli Dodson.

No website or online service can promise 100% security. If a data breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you without unreasonable delay, as the law requires.

7. How long we keep your information

  • Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
  • Website form answers and Life Audit scores: 1 year, unless you become a client.
  • Client intake information and session notes: 3 years after your last session.
  • Signed agreements, payment, and tax records: 7 years, to meet tax and legal requirements.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we have about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your information (unless we are required to keep it, such as payment and tax records)
  • Stop sending you marketing emails

Unsubscribe anytime by clicking the link at the bottom of any email we send.

To make any other request, use our contact form or write to the address below. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before we share or delete anything.

Depending on where you live, your state or country may give you additional privacy rights. We will honor those rights where they apply.

9. Children

Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Links to other websites

Our website links to other sites, such as TidyCal, Stripe, and social media. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.

11. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will also let our email subscribers and current clients know.
